Let’s use a cooking analogy to understand the recipe for success.

The first thing to make a successful meal is that you need to decide that you want to make a meal.  You could be many different reasons for doing this, but ultimately making a meal takes time and effort so you will have to have enough desire to generate some action.

Once you have committed to taking some action, you will then need to decide what you are going to make.  You would at this stage consider your cooking ability and focus on a meal which you have a talent for.  You may be good at stir fry but not so good at baking.  You might have a particularly good taste for Asian food.

Having nailed this, in order to increase the chances of making a successful meal, you would tap into experts by way of a recipe book with know how and expertise provided by experts in this field.

Undoubtedly, something doesn’t go according to plan.  Perhaps you are missing a vital ingredient at the last minute and need to call on a friend to help out; maybe you need some moral support to help you deal with the pressure!  In both cases you call on support to help you deliver a successful meal

So, the recipe for success involves:

1)    Deciding to take action
2)    Working out what you should focus on based on your talents and passions
3)    Tapping into the knowledge and knowhow of experts in your field
4)    Ensuring you have a good support framework

So, cooking is a good analogy, but this is simple but powerful success recipe that you can use for all your endevours.
