Internet Marketing - Automation v Spamming
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

I have been spending heaps and heaps of time researching and testing all manners of traffic generation; it is an interesting area, getting pretty competitive and always someone trying to temp you into buying something!!

One thing that seems to be common is that if you start spamming you are likely to get into trouble, so keep to genuine traffic generation if you don’t want to get bitten.

There is a big difference between spamming and automation. Generating traffic can be very time consuming so look for ways to use technology to save on the manual side, but don’t abuse it.

Have a chat to me if you want to some more details on this subject…

Making money online - eBay
Thursday, July 31st, 2008

I thought I would put together a series on the different options that
you should consider if you are looking to start an online business.

First off the rank, eBay!

The major appeal with eBay is the size of the client base who are ready to buy. There are now more searches on ebay than on google. Combine this with the fact that people use Google predominantly for information where as people go to eBay to buy and you have a powerful case.

It is also easy to get going as there are no websites to build, you can get traffic to your products, and there are multiple business models to choose from.

It is becoming a complex area on its own. In terms of using this channel as an ongoing revenue stream, you have to:

Find a market area where you can sell product at a higher price than you can source it
Find a market where the competition is not too strong – avoid too many eBay pros
Determine how you are going to handle the sourcing and distribution side

On the upside:

• Potentially low capital unless you are looking to source bulk products
• Ontap market of buyers
• Ability to automate large elements
• Ability to work at home

On the downside:

• Typically requires some regular management
• Sourcing and delivery can be troublesome
• Sustainability in question depending on who you ask
• eBay fees

Example: stores.ebay.com.au/entertainment-house

In the club you can hear from two gurus on eBay. Just search for Amanda Clarkson

Effective linking for your online business
Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

Carrying on the them of traffic generation, one element is getting the popularity of your site higher by having effective linking…

Here are some key tips you should consider to get the best results..

The third party site:

* Must have some good relevancy to yours
* Should be a popular and well ranked site.
* Should not be either using a nofollow tag or be linking to random, irrelevant sites. (Google hates this!!)
* Must not have an excessive amount of links going out from one page. 30 is the maximum!

Effective linking is an important part of your overall internet marketing strategy

Creating traffic to your website
Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

This is an essential aspect of internet marketing and as you would imagine everyone is trying to find ways to do this effectively. I will go share different experiences that I have as I go on the journey of Keys To Success Club. I have fortunate to have been to exclusive workshops with leaders in the field, but there is nothing like doing it yourself. First stop, organic listing through google and other search engines.

The best way to make this easy is to have a very specific website that is well built for search engines and to focus on a small number of keywords. A site like KeysToSuccessClub.com is tricky in the sense that it is broad in nature.

You should really do the thinking on this before you go live as the domain name you choose is very significant.

Google has a very straight forward mandate which you need to keep in mind at all times. It simply wants people to find what they are looking for AND that it is of good quality. My understanding to date is that this means, keep it relevant and then make your site popular. This is the over-riding message so if you are trying to shortcut or cheat Google it may only work for a short time so stick to working in sync with Google than against it!!
